Czech Krumlov
.
Cesky Krumlov was founded prior to the 1250s by the lords of Krumlov’s Witigonen family. The Witigonen coat of arms bears the emblem of the Rose with five leaves, the color of which symbolized the individual estates.
Rare Renaissance and Baroque frescoes are on display in the castle’s five courts comprised of a large, stunningly designed garden with its cascading fountain and castle pond.
.
However, the most important monument is the world-famous Baroque Theater.
Allegedly one of the most well-preserved theaters dating back to eighteenth-century Europe, it features decorations, costumes, props and stage equipment in near mint condition.
Czech Krumlov is a UNESCO World Heritage monument.
It is located in the S-shaped curved meanders of the Vltava River 170 km south of Prague.
